Paula Gustafson Joins OTA

A dear friend of Tom McGregor is the newest member of OT Artists.  Paula Gustafson recently moved back to the Twin Cities after spending, as she describes it, "a nine year vacation painting in Grand Marais, Minnesota."  This location feed her artistry as a Plein Air and landscape painter.  Many of us agree that this would be a dream location for painting because of the ever changing light and atmosphere along the great lake.
Painting has been an integral part of her life since the age of 13.  She has a BFA from Maryland Institute College of Art and a MFA from School of the Art Institute of Chicago.  Her training has allowed her to explore many facets of artwork.  She has done commercial work and illustration in various mediums (inks, charcoal, acrylics).  During COVID she completed a set of small abstract paintings for a book that illustrated a poem written by her brother.

Paula has shown her work at several regional galleries (Northern Lights, Ghost Ship Gallery, Yellow Bird Fine Arts) and currently at Groveland Gallery in Minneapolis.  She participated in Plein Air, Grand Marais for 14 years and has been an instructor at the Grand Marais Art Colony.

Paula always returns to her passion for landscape painting in oils.  As she settles into the OTA studio she is making plan for her next artistic journey.  The studio is moving to a new location on the second floor of the FOK building in November.  Until then you can see Paula's work during the Fall Art Crawl.  OT Artists will be showing artwork in the Education Room, 3rd floor of the FOK Studios.
