OT Artists Visit MIA

A group of OT Artists gathered on April 28th to see the Modern Art and Politics in Germany exhibit at the Minneapolis Institute of Arts.  Organizer Pat Cleary had already viewed the exhibit and was so impressed he wanted to experience it again with his colleagues.
What a show!
Our group was a bit chatty in the quite of the show, but we were only approached once by the exhibit guards for getting too close to the artwork as we looked at brushstrokes, signatures and oddities in the work.

Here Katharine, Pat and Tom discussion Christian Schad's painting Sonja from 1928.  The depiction is of Albertine Gimpel and stands as an archetypal image of the self-confident, emancipated woman in the Weimer Republic.

We highly recommend a visit to see stunning artwork, learn more about the fate of Albertine, and many other details in this art period.  The show runs through July 19th, 2026.
