By JoAnn Frekot
Seven members of OT Artists are delighted to announce their collective exhibit, "Heart and Hearth," now on view at First Presbyterian Church in South Saint Paul.
Katharine Gotham is among the artists participating. Here is what Katharine had to say about one of her paintings.

I selected "Playful" for the theme "Heart and Hearth," because it represents what consider the comforts of home.
For me, home is a refuge from the "maddening din" of the modern world where I can recharge my battery and enjoy the simple goodness of life. That goodness includes wholesome food with my family, time to enjoy simple pursuits like getting down on the carpet and playing with a child, and the freedom to think creatively.
JoAnn Frekot is another participating artist. JoAnn had this to say about "Red Rover."

In that way, "Red Rover" reminds me to keep it simple. Chickens are not worried about tomorrow, and are pretty much living in the moment (as far as I can tell).
Red Rover's expression suggests it's not all fun and games, just like life is not all fun and games. At the same time, Red is grounded in the here-and-now. Red tells me, "Keep it real."
The other participating artists in "Heart and Hearth" are Sarah Carmack Boyle, Pat Cleary, Vera J. Kent, CZ Stokes, and Christine Tierney.
First Presbyterian Church https://www.fpcssp.org/ is located at 535 20th Avenue North, South Saint Paul. The exhibit runs through the end of December.
